Driveways
Driveways & Entries
New driveways and entries, plain or exposed aggregate, built for daily use.
Your driveway is the first thing anyone sees when they pull up, and it takes more punishment than almost any other slab on the property, daily vehicle loads, sun, and whatever the weather throws at it. We pour new driveways and entry aprons across Perth’s northern suburbs in both plain and exposed aggregate finishes, built to handle that use without cracking or wearing early.
Who it suits
Anyone building a new driveway from scratch, replacing a cracked or dated one, or adding a proper entry apron where there’s currently gravel, dirt or an old broken path. It also covers double driveways, side-by-side parking pads and entry statements that need to match or complement an exposed aggregate finish elsewhere on the property.
What CJH actually does
Every driveway job starts with a free measure and quote, so you can see the full picture before committing. Then:
- Site prep. Clearing the area, excavating to depth, and compacting a solid base so the slab doesn’t move or crack under vehicle weight.
- Formwork. Edges set out accurately for straight lines and correct falls, driveways need to shed water properly, not pool it at the garage door.
- Reinforcement. Mesh or reo laid through the slab to handle the repeated load of vehicles coming and going.
- The pour. Plain or Geostone exposed aggregate blend, screeded and levelled.
- The finish. Broom finish for plain concrete, or washed and brushed back for exposed aggregate.
- Sealing. Exposed aggregate finishes get sealed once cured for protection and colour.
Where we’ve poured driveways
We’ve poured plain and exposed aggregate driveways right across the northern suburbs, including a full driveway and entry in Beeliar finished in Jacaranda White, and a last-minute driveway job in Merriwa that we turned around on short notice. Whatever the timeline, the process stays the same: proper prep first, then a pour that holds up under daily use for years.
What drives the price
As a Perth market guide, plain concrete driveways generally sit around ~$70-$90/m2, and exposed aggregate around ~$100-$150/m2. The total also depends on the size of the driveway, whether there’s an old slab to remove first, and how easy the site is to access for the truck and pump. We measure every job on site before quoting, so there are no surprises later.

FAQ
Common questions.
How long does a new driveway take to pour and cure?
Most residential driveways are poured in a day once prep is done. You can usually walk on it within a couple of days, but we'll tell you exactly when it's safe to drive on based on the mix and weather at the time.
Can you replace an old cracked driveway?
Yes. We can remove and replace an existing driveway, including breaking out and disposing of the old slab, then prepping and pouring fresh. We'll factor demolition into the quote.
Plain or exposed aggregate, what's the difference in price?
As a Perth market guide, plain concrete generally runs ~$70-$90/m2 and exposed aggregate ~$100-$150/m2. Plain is a clean, functional finish; exposed aggregate adds texture, grip and street appeal for a bit more per square metre.
Do you do last-minute driveway jobs?
We've turned around driveway pours on short notice before, including a last-minute job in Merriwa. If you're up against a deadline, call us and we'll tell you honestly whether we can fit it in.
