Shed pad and smoker pad, Padbury

A shed pad and a separate smoker pad poured for a Padbury client, prepped, reinforced and finished level and ready for install.

The brief

A Padbury client needed two separate pads poured on the same property, a shed pad and a smoker pad, both ready to have something built or installed directly on top. Two different structures meant two different footprints and two separate pours to get right.

The pour

We started with a free measure and quote to confirm the sizing for both pads against what was going on top of each. Site prep came first: clearing and excavating each area, then compacting a solid base so neither pad would settle unevenly once loaded. Formwork was set out to the exact dimensions needed for the shed and the smoker unit respectively, and mesh reinforcement went in before either pour.

Both pads were poured and screeded level, this mattered more here than on a typical slab, since a shed frame and a smoker unit both need a true, flat base to sit on without packing or shimming later. Finished with a clean broom finish suited to the equipment going over the top.

The result

Two level, properly reinforced pads ready for their respective installs, done over two days on site. It’s a straightforward job on paper, but getting the base right is what stops problems showing up months later once the shed or smoker is in place and loaded.
