Process · Six stages

Every CJH job runs through the same six stages: measured, quoted, prepped, poured, finished and handed over with straight answers on curing.

Timeline

Most residential jobs pour in a day once prep is done · urgent and weekend pours quoted on the call

  1. 01

    Usually within a few days

    Enquiry and free measure

Call or message with the suburb and the job. We come out, measure the area, check access for the truck or pump, and ask about anything that could affect the pour, like existing paving, drainage, or council requirements for a driveway crossover.

What you need: 15 to 20 minutes and access to the site.

  2. 02

    Following the site visit

    Quote

A price based on the area, the finish (plain or exposed aggregate), access, and any prep or demolition needed. Straight answers on timing, including whether the job can be squeezed in sooner if it's urgent.

Includes: area, finish, inclusions and a timeframe.

  3. 03

    Before the pour

    Site prep and formwork

Clearing and excavating to depth, compacting a solid base, and setting out formwork for straight edges and correct falls so water runs away from the house rather than pooling.

No pour goes down on a base that hasn't been properly compacted.

  4. 04

    Pour day

    Reo and pour

Reinforcement mesh or reo goes in to handle the load, whether that's daily vehicle traffic on a driveway or the weight of a shed and its contents. Concrete is poured, screeded and levelled across the full area.

Weather and access permitting, most residential jobs pour in a day.

  5. 05

    Same day as the pour

    Finish and seal

Broom finish for plain concrete, or washed and brushed back once it's gone off enough to expose the aggregate evenly. Exposed aggregate finishes get sealed once cured, protecting the surface and keeping the colour sharp.

Finish depends on the job: driveways, pads, alfresco areas and paths are all treated differently.

  6. 06

    After the pour

    Handover and curing

We walk you through the finished job and give you clear guidance on curing: how long before you can walk on it, how long before you can drive on it, and how to look after a new exposed aggregate finish in the early weeks.

Straight answers on timing, no guessing games.

  • No shortcut prep

Bases are excavated and compacted properly before any concrete goes down. No pour goes on a site that isn't ready.

Every quote covers the area, the finish and what's included, so you know what's happening before we start.

  • No days off when clients need us

Weekend and urgent pours are something we're known for. If there's a deadline, we'll tell you straight what's possible.
